The recipes available are based on the resources you can collect nearby, such as the garden near the NPC's house that can provide the ingredients needed. It is also based on context such as Muthu's stall hosting recipes that you can find in any mamak. (e.g. Thosai, roti canai, etc)

Mei Mei's garden allows you to plant all kinds of flowers. Thus, you can plant and harvest those flowers to use in baking all the desserts and sweet treats available at her house.

Tok Dalang's garden consists of a lot of chillies that are ready for you to water and harvest as well, seeing that he has a lot of recipes that require them.
